I think it's starting to fit together.
The FBI had the laptop with the emails for weeks, yet never got a warrant to look at them. Maybe that should be stated 'couldn't' get a warrant, because the DOJ would not cooperate. Why else would they not have gotten one during that period of time?
We find out today the computer had the imap protocol on it, meaning every email copied to huma is on that computer, most likely including the ones that were bleachbitted on the server.
It's potentially explosive info. Could that be why the FBI didn't have a warrant? Because the DOJ wouldn't cooperate? It looks to me like Comey was forced to go public in order to force the DOJ's hand to get the warrant. If he would have kept quiet, they may never have gotten the DOJ to go along.
