She doesn't actually believe anything but is willing to *say* anything in the pursuit of profit, erm I mean power.
What makes all this manufactured outrage and smear effort so appealing is that the Republicans have little to no chance of winning next year. It's all good. Please carry on.
the problem is, the republican party is an old white dying party. They are losing the anti gay crowd because that crowd is either dying off or one of their family members is that way. And it was that last dying 10% evangelicals (and gerrymandering) who kept them alive. Without the social conservative right the republicans can no longer survive.
Enjoy the fantasy. Let's take a look at the political map. Over the past decade more & more states are leaning Republican, the number of Republicans are increasing faster than Democrats, and the Republicans are winning increasing majorities in state and national races.

If you lived in North Carolina where the Republican party has a large number of young members which is rapidly increasing (and a black state chairman, Hasan Harnett) --- and the Democratic party consists of elderly racists who are dying off (and the state Democratic party is broke) - you would not be making assertions about the Republicans being the "old white dying party".
and you can't replace those 20% old dying social conservatives with new young fiscal conservatives because by definition a conservative goes against the mob's base non thinking emotions, and most people want to spend more than they make, so fiscal conservatives will always be a minority.
what we need are some really big thinking liberals like me who want to do easy simple things like feeding the world, and some hard core right wing conservative libertarians like me who couldn't care less how rich you get.
and I don't think you will ever find that in the two current parties. When was the last time you heard a republican candidate say, "What we need most and first is to make sure nobody is hungy!"? And when was the last time you heard a democrat say, "We better be careful we don't spend too much money."?
You better come down and visit some rural counties... You will find a whole new generation of conservative bible thumpers - all under the age of 25. The number is increasing, not decreasing. It is not a "dying breed".
