Hillary slammed by Hollywood Liberal

If Hillary is smart, she won't run.

Whoever takes the presidency in 2008 is going to inherit the biggest pile of shit ever, as Bush is the worst president in our history, leaving a huge pile of crap to be dealt with.

I am kind of hoping that a republican wins, with enough democrats to keep congress from being such lap dogs, because the republicans are going to be hated like no other for what they are doing/have done to this country.

It doesn't get noticed much, but the bloated budget just passed by a "conservative" had only 1 single democrat voting for it.....

I continue to believe that a populist, someone who is not a career politician, who is not part of the political machine, either republican or democrat, could rise up and win.

With a split vote between two hated candidates, i.e. Hillary and say McCain, an independent charismatic leader who could speak to the growing disenfranchised on both sides could squeak by.

Polls show that the people are disgusted with both parties, and the level of trust in career politicians is likely at an all time low....

Edwards though I doubt. While he certainly didn't hurt the Kerry ticket, he didn't particularly help it either. Now out of the Senate, he's also lost his soapbox. (Maybe a good thing for him though. He still had difficulty getting past the whole ambulance chasing PI lawyer biz. His resume is hardly inspiring. One lackluster term in the minority. Are his looks good or does he appear bitchy. Sort of a Quayle type thing. Shallow and cute doesn't cut it at that level.

Maybe Hillary is the 1992 Cuomo. Will she even run? She's young enough that she doesn't have to go in two years. I still say if she runs in '08 it's her nomination. Every other Dem is nothing more than a proxy for Bill among the non-lunatic left party faithful. She is Bill.

Not to mention Doc, IMO if the Dems go with a southerner like Gore or Edwards they still lose the South and miss out on some potential swing states. Hillary's the man. No pun intended.:)

Don't be needlessly disingenuous Z. The budget wasn't BIG ENOUGH for the Democrats and hence this budget is MUCH LARGER that the budget proposed last year by the White House. Liberal Republicans like Spector led the charge for greater spending. The Democrats want spending and tax increases and many liberal Republicans want spending without higher taxes. Unfortunately only about a third of Congress is both anti tax and anti-spending. If I were a GOP member of the Senate I'd tell the administration they'd best start getting a handle on the expense of the war. Three years of budgets being fucked up by Iraq is getting tiresome.

I don't know what you mean by "control". A slim minority is hardly tantamount to absolute power. Just because one is a Republican does not make one a conservative. Conservatives are not a majority in Congress thus they are hardly in control.

If the electorate's unhappy then the salad days of yore that they long for are close ahead. 4% daily breaks in the Index, 11% mortgage rates, 40-50,000 combat deaths in Iran just like Korea and Nam, race riots, ect. Yea life in 2006 just SUX. Whatever.

Edwards serving only one term and now being out of the Senate is a huge virtue, not a hindrance (see below). Further, the guy maybe a scum sucking PI lawyer but a he's hardly an air-head pretty boy a la Quayle. Dude's sharp and articulate...has a presence about him.

Yet just as you allude to the next statement is axiomatic: SITTING SENATORS DO NOT BECOME PRESIDENTS.

There's simply too much too voting record to slice and dice and dissect and attack. That's why Allen can never win.
