Well, so much and so long you can raise taxes to repay govt debt: short-term gain, long-term pain.
Trump's plan is short-term pain, long-term gain.
That does not seem accurate. When every journalist and unbiased analyst mentioned after the 3rd debate that Clinton won but wasted a splendid opportunity to communicate more in detail what she really wants to do domestically, and a lot of people who are generally considered educated and intelligent miss what Clinton really attempts to change on an economic level then that clearly points to the fact that she has not communicated it well at all.
