Glenn Beck: 'Liberals, You Were Right' About Iraq War.
There are many things you'd never expect Glenn Beck to say: "Barack Obama is a great president," "the Affordable Care Act was a huge success," "amnesty for all undocumented immigrants!"
But "liberals, you were right" tops them all. And yet:
"From the beginning, most people on the left were against going into Iraq. I wasnât.... Liberals, you were right. We shouldnât have."
Beck made this surprising declaration on his radio show on Tuesday while discussing the widening rift between Republicans and Democrats. He urged both parties to come together to oppose another war in Iraq.
"Not one more life. Not one more life. Not one more dollar, not one more airplane, not one more bullet, not one more Marine, not one more arm or leg or eye. Not one more," he said. "This must end now. Now can't we come together on that?"
Meanwhile, the U.S. on Monday announced it would send more than 200 soldiers to Iraq to help deal with escalating attacks by the militant group ISIS. Secretary of State John Kerry indicated that the administration would consider conducting drone strikes.
Beck isn't alone in denouncing an intervention, but the situation has put a new spotlight on noted Iraq War hawks such as Former Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz and Iraq War architect Paul Bremer.

Beck is right. As traders, we should be able to recognize reality and not cling to Bush-era fantasies.
I will grant that the opportunity to kill large numbers of these crazies is appealing, but then what? Hand Iraq back to Iran? If they want to rule it by proxy, let them deal with this sunni invasion.
Donald Trump was right. The only sane thing for Bush to have done was to take control of the Iraqi oil fields and impose some sort of puppet government. That's traditionally why countries waged war. I'm still not sure why we went in there, except that it was some sort of Bush family score-settling.
Ironically, we will now be on the side of the same people we wanted to oppose in syria, eg the Iranians, Russians and Assad regime.

I'd like to know why Colin Powell gets a pass in this whole thing. The obot who pretended to be a republican for so many years.
When W Bush invaded Iraq, Powell was all over the airwaves saying it was he that advised W on nation building in Iraq. His 'you break it, you own it' quote should be seared in everyone's memory. He did everything he could to take credit for the US staying in Iraq to nation build after we did away with Iraq's defenses.
