Just keep in mind that during the French Revolution many more of the poor "reformers" were guillotined than the French nobility and rich. The revolutionary mob spent much more time removing the heads of other "revolutionary groups" that opposed them for pwoer or people the new rulers accused of fabricated crimes than chopping off heads of the former ruling class. In all of this is a lesson... but I am not sure that most people will get it.

This is why it would be a win to have either a French or American type revolution.
If we had an American style revolution from the right, we just might end up with freedom.
If we had a French style revolution from the left, they'd kill each other off fighting to get control of the treasury.

You're no doubt right. But then revolutions are typically messy, the privileged don't often yield their position, and the poor always pay the higher price.
