We will see because Youngkin lost his buzz after he took office really. He ran on some issues that basically no one is really talking about anymore in Virginia so he would have to do something else maybe. As long as he does not cater to the far right base he can gain ground in the party. To be honest he can coast the next 4 years and take credit for eveyrthing good in the state as economically the state is pretty strong overall and education and social issues not a big problem. So he could do nothing the next 4 years and take all credit and use that.
But he does stuff like this:
"Virginians do want fewer abortions as opposed to more abortions," the governor
said in a meeting at The Washington Post shortly after the decision was made public."
There is no way to say factually that Virginians want more or less abortions, many just want legal access or the choice. Youngkin is pushing for a 15 week ban with exceptions so he is trying to find the middle ground at least which helps his cause.
Against the dems he would just have to avoid falling into the trump trap of catering to the far base and then he can win in PA, MI, WI and MI which is all you need to win assuming other states stay same color. he has a better chance in 2024 than Cruz-Rubio-DeSantis wing.
