High Speed Trading Unfair To Retail Traders

Quote from endsongs:

One thing about HFT is why do they need to do it in the first place? Can't all of those super geniuses use TA or fundamental analysis to make sufficient profits? It would be interesting to see how their normal traders do compared to the HFT computers. We could be approaching a real John Henry moment in trading.

"sufficient profits" ... on Wall Street these 2 words are not allowed to be used in the same sentence. Didn't you know that?

"sufficent profits"

u have the same mentality as President Obama. do not worry. a transaction tax is in your future.

what is going to happen to tomahawk the poster above. there won't be any scalping.

the US needs a patrick henry moment not a john henry moment .

I don't think so. Consider the political power of Goldman.

in the UK brokers are exempt from transaction tax ie stamp tax but not the online trader/investor.
goldman etc. will be exempt for its own trading.

Possibly ... then I wonder why it's taking so long.

transaction tax-

do not be in a rush for the hangman's noose for your business.

it takes time. nationalizing the US health system is on the top of the agenda.

suggest u read the ET thread on the subject. of transaction tax.

then again there are others like yourself who think that your interests and that of goldman are one and same.

what a delusion.

I am under no such delusions. But I do think they'll have a harder time selling a tax here with blatant favoritism toward big banks than has been done in comparable situations elsewhere.

A transaction tax would spell the end of the American securities 'industry'.
A higher SEC 'fee' (the same you're paying now), on the other hand would help drive some of these BS 'bots out of town.
