High-paid banker 'suspended over alleged food theft'

To be really draconic, time theft would be number one crime. Lots of people do shit like watching youtube or chit chatting, doing long lunches when they are supposed to be working.

I doubt the eaten (stolen) sandwich was the primary reason. Most likely there were other events that lead up to the sandwich.

Heck, the trader could have been sleeping with the boss wife, boss girlfriend, boss love interest or boss workplace competitor...anything.

They guy is lucky that someone didn't set him up for a real crime that could have landed him in jail.

If this case is true, I wonder how it is possible for an entire intelligent banker to become discredited in that way.
or maybe only someone wants to harm his reputation

Why don’t people see the obvious?

A bank’s whole business is based on confidence that the employees will conduct their fiduciary responsibilities with integrity.

Why would they ever publicly tolerate an employee stealing?

And from a real politik perspective, especially when that individual is easily replaceable by 10 other people on the desk now.

Don't get this, either. Strange character flaws? Thrills? Like the famous actress types, who probably are worth multi-millions, getting caught shoplifting.

Nice front. They wanted to get rid of him and it was a good enough reason. He was the "head of high-yield bond trading for Europe, the Middle East and Africa". You think a position like that would be vacated for some sandwiches, get real.

IF he steals a sandwich;
he steals anything......................................................................................................

You got to be kidding me. You should google for the misdeeds committed by the tier 1 investment banks and Wells Fargo. As long as PNL at the end of the day is big enough, banks don't care about ethics.
