No, all I'm saying is that if they expect their employees to behave ethically, Citi should also display an exemplary behavior themselves. So, to answer your question, the employee is a "fuck" but Citi is a hypocritical "fuck".

Not exactly. The type of person who claws and scratches his way to that amount is likely still poor in their mind. Meanwhile, someone who has not had to work as hard (perhaps they had an easy life) are more likely to have a mind of abundance.

Huh? Ethical behavior should be considered as self-immolation?

BTW do you really believe the guy got sacked because he stole sandwiches? I highly doubt it. He most likely fell out of favor with somebody higher up.

I'll tell you the stuff I got away with in plain sight:

1. Office supplies (printer paper, books for journalling)
2. A laptop
3. Coming in/leaving when I wanted

I was able to do this because I made my boss lots of money. The moment that was no longer true, I would have been out.

In fact, the IT guy came up to me and said "I'm going to tell <BOSS> that you haven't returned the laptop". I told him "Go ahead, I'm sure he'll let me keep it for business purposes."

I still have that laptop :-)

Citi didn't use the theft as an excuse to fire the idiot. They could have fired him any time w/o cause. Fuck him on his bonus and he'd leave. So obviously this is what it appears to be--a persistent problem of a dude stealing from the company.

Imaging the BO and clerical staff seeing this clown stealing lunch every day while making $1.2MM a year? It's bad for morale. The FCA is super anal about this stuff and if it had been reported to the FCA by an employee rather than Citi? The guy been busted by the cops after being reported to HR?
