there IS NO SINGLE COMMON TAPE in US equity markets. NBBO is a joke and means nothing. Why do you think every single trade gets picked off and gamed in US equity markets. Because there is no single market.
Don't be a racist. I am not russian, but I am an appreciator of russians. They are a remarkably high achieving people. I'd take a russian over a yank any day of the week.
Tell that to the NASDAQ/NYSE/AMEX/NMS price processor LOL !!!
by law, there is a common tape for Equities you fool
not saying some HTFers are not trying to "play it", but pre-trade and post-trade transparency does exist for US Equity market. In HFT terms, it's another discussion, since you are dealing with barrel scrappers, not the big players on the markets.
big players don't care to pay an extra penny as long as their trades get done,
very high achieving indeed on the corruption and extortion scale. Oh and I forgot they are record alcohol consumers with most addicts in the world, even beats China with its multiple number of people. Indeed a respectful bunch...anyway, I digress. You sounded like one of those Russian software developers who thinks they know everything about financial markets because they read a 101 book...
There, even you would regard russian programming to be superior. The moment you realised I am top notch, you automatically think I am russian. Despite their stature, their faults, their achievements are incomparable to anyone. They are the only people in the world who can tell the "sole" super power to get lost and their wish is respected. They also horde the greatest amount of resources in the world. Sometimes I wonder how did they get there ?
I know a reasonable amount of financial markets because I spent time studying it. You can too if you put in the effort. But you find it easier to be fed the junk by the financial industry.
