HFT Killing Retail Traders in ES Futures - NY Times Today

Quote from startraitor:

So they have taken the place of the floor 10-20 years ago. It was a disruptive move but still the same game.
no kidding, they use to write these same articles back in the 70's

but back then they were getting an eighth, maybe a quarter

now it's just a penny or less

things have gotten faster, but nothing has changed

For a number of reasons I'm back to futures (stock index and testing waters in CL)... Didn't find SIF's to be any harder than back in 2006, when I traded them last time. :)

What does it mean? English is not my 1st language. :)

Wow, you pay that much! You have to be a whore, I am. I still think I pay too much and no where near that.

Quote from NoDoji:

My broker made about $5.00 a contract against me today, but I made about $70.00 a contract in exchange for those fees. Why are the HFT's not killing me?

No, I misspoke; I pay close to 5.00/RT, only 2.30/contract

When you told me you're going to trade CL my first thought was, I hope he doesn't ask me how I trade it. :p :p :p
