Hey everybody, I'm new here, looking for some input...

Second time today I have heard that automated trading doesn't work. Interesting...I'm up huge year to date and haven't placed a single manual trade. How is that possible? I don't have overwhelming computing power, I don't have HFT speed, and I'm not even that good of a programmer or "quant". Interesting.

So were thousands of other traders during the dot com era. No one said it does not work, but it only works some of the time due to the markets being random, so unless one adjusts and readjusts the consistent profits will not stay consistent. It is like a merry go round, and the clever ones are the ones who know when to jump off.

You may believe this, but it isn't my reality.

Not yet, and if the big boys can't do it with all that money behind them, then I seriously doubt that you, or anyone else for that matter, can.
Big boys can and do everyday. You think you know everything like the other clowns around here, you actually don't know what you're talking about.

At least I know I don't know, whereas you don't know that you do not know. I suppose you laughed along with the rest at Mr Rumsfeld, when I considered him to be an extremely clever man.

Who are the other clowns by the way, maybe we will form a circus and get a few monkeys to swing about the place.

Next step would be you quoting something from art of war or Ed Seykota saying you get what you want out of the market.

The clowns are all around you, just open your eyes.

I don't feel the need to really switch if I don't have to. TOS doesn't seem to allow for automatic trading, which is fine. If for some reason I decide to go that route in the future then I could always port it somewhere else. As I mentioned, this is all new to me, so if starting with TOS was a bad idea for some reason then I'd be happy to consider something else that's all.

I recommend you switch to TradeStation.
