I saw the bankruptcy coming several years back (Hertz has too much debt, and at one time, they also issued more shares, too many players in this space). can you believe this company was on the IBD 50 list?

In 2015, there was talk that their fleet was too old and it would take billions to update it. That's about when Icahn invested in it.

It's not clear to me what the "joke" is in saying "The poor diversity hire never stood a chance. But im sure she made it out ok with millions for herself."? Is that supposed to be funny?

I'm not sure why you would think your race or relative privilege levels would give you permission to make what is at its core simply an asshole comment with no redeeming qualities....and then have the gall to criticize the person who calls you on making an asshole comment? It's not "political correctness" or "feminism" or even concern about Karen's feelings to call out gratuitous asshole remarks, which this certainly is. It's just basic human decency.

Typically men who advocate for feminism do so because it helps them get laid :sneaky:

I have little respect for 'CEOs for hire', a good number are psychopaths. And most are out to line their own pockets at the company expense.

Self made CEOs who build companies from scratch, thats a different matter. As well as employees who work their way up from the bottom over decades.

It's interesting, you actually just said "I was expecting our resident male feminists to turn up in defence of m'lady." and "Im not sure why you got so triggered." or in other words, "I just made an asshole comment for the express purpose of pissing someone off." One has to ask, is that not the definition of asshole behavior, or was there actually something worthwhile you were attempting to accomplish with that we all missed? And more importantly, have you ever stopped to think why you get your jollies off that kind of thing?

I'm happy to discuss if hired CEOs are worthwhile or not, heck I've started 2 companies and still run one so I have some insight into the startup CEO experience. That has jack shit to do with if that person is a woman or a jew or a black guy or a white heterosexual male. Again gratuitously bringing up any of those things as pretty much your entire comment is simply asshole behavior with no redeeming qualities and certainly not something to be proud of and double down on. That's all.
