Here comes the pain

You are missing what the total would be if it ramps up + the fact that it is IN ADDITION to flu deaths

Nope. Not missing that at all.

Here's another little statistic for you -- over 45% of those who contract the CoVID-19 virus will remain asymptomatic over the duration of their infection. These are not numbers getting a lot of play. They're not shocking. They ARE early -- and bear close watching, to be sure. But to spin this as TEOTWAWKI is ..... :wtf::confused::banghead:-material.

I bet many of those 80+ folks would die within a year anyway of some other cause
so most likely marginal increase in deaths not so big

It is neither good nor bad. I will be buying more at lower levels. There is so much bad news out there that a little bit of good news could spark a monster bear market rally.

Thought CBs started after Flashcrash 2010
They had a set of trading curbs before the flashcrash that were revised to include single stocks. I do remember that in December 08 SPX hit Level 1 breaker during RTH and we closed gently down from there.

PS. Yup, December 1st, 2008 we hit the Level 1, halted for 15 and resumed falling to close 9% down.
