Herbalife (HLF) Exposed!

Quote from sprstpd:

At least he's not out to screw Ackman!
now Ichan has to increase his holding to 25%

will Ackman start covering to drive the price up so it costs Ichan a fortune to own a worthless stock?

Quote from atticus:

And a lousy 7% move on this news? You can't polish a turd.

volume was lousy also.

Of course, now that Icahn has his goons on the board Ackman better pray that herballife doesn't institute an aggressive share buyback program

Icahn is acting like a revenge trader.

If HLF is a Ponzi scheme á la Madoff, why does he want to own so much of it so badly.

The SEC and the FTC should investigate and get to the bottom of this company.

Price action is lousy also.

Can't sustain rallies. Institutions are probably unloading into the rallies.

Quote from oldtime:

hey caveman, I'm not trying to make money off this one, that's way out of my league, it's just for entertainment and educational purposes

but you bring up a good point

what does the conservative investor that's caught long in the middle do?

I think they said Fidelity is the largest long holder

That investor should start exiting b/c the stock is no longer stable.

Quote from hard kore:

Carl Icahn filed a 13D disclosing a ~13% synthetic stake in Herbalife.

There are three possible reasons that Carl Icahn might want to own half a billion dollars worth of Herbalife stock:

1) as a value investment in a company with strong cash flows and a beaten-up stock price.

2) as a toehold in preparation for launching a tender offer to take the company private.

3) to fuck with Bill Ackman.

forget the first 2 reasons and keep the third.

He probably wants to make a quick buck.

Doubt he cares about HLF.

False premise. There's no evidence that they're falsifying the books like Madoff did.
