Herbalife (HLF) Exposed!

Quote from hftvol:

He is definitely not long stock (at least does the stock position not make up for the majority of his position), he is mostly long the upside calls of varying maturities. Nothing else, nothing synthetic, nothing exotic, nothing magic, nothing mystical.

It would help if you knew what a synthetic entailed. He's short puts and long calls down to the single share. Apparently only mystical to some.

Maybe you missed it, but HLF is up less than a buck on the news on the Icahn filing.

New nick, asiaprop?
we got that on the may options

what is the purpose and function of the jan 2015 european options, apparently both long the calls and short the puts, just like you say, synthetic long

I don't think they have any voting rights

doesn't seem like his style

why would somebody go so far out just to get cash settled?

only thing I can think of is to avoid reporting

Of course HLF will beat. Vol looks good:

Icahn puts in the floor and Ackman provides the cap.

Mar 30/50 fly is 4.80. May 25/55 is 6.40.

if you like it, buy it by the case

and sell it by the bottle

maybe that will pay for your habit

and if you can sign up another addict

make a commission

I wish they would do that with gasoline

or cigarettes

Atticus,

You are well versed in healthy living. What's your opinion of herblife product offerings?

Thanks, surf

Never used nor seen their products. I just searched "Herbalife protein" and found their "24" product. $33-$80 depending on where you look. 480g of whey conc. when you can buy Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard whey (isolate) for $24.

<15g of protein per $ for the HLF concentrate
>29g of isolate per $ for the Optimum

Even at $33 it's a terrible value and reflects all the overhead of the MLM/pryamid bullshit. Concentrate is typically 30-40% cheaper than isolate.

that's why I quit buying tupperware

I can now get a similar product for less on amazon

but I must admit

I don't get laid as much

Thanks. I knew some guys who tried to sell the stuff back in the 90's --- all their "biz" flopped bad. One guy had a whole garage full of the stuff-- apparently you can buy into rank by purchasing product. Only stuff he sold , he purchased . If I remember he was gold diamond level car qualified. And was honored at the convention for being such a succesful salesman. He kept telling me he was soon gonna get a company car. Never happened and I think the product may still be sitting there. LOL!

well, it takes a hell of a lot to be a salesman.

most fail

but those that succeed are members of the highest paid profession, based on national statistics

higher paid than doctors or lawyers

nothing happens until somebody can sell it

if you got paid for great ideas, I'd be rich

that's why I just stick to something easy that anybody can do, like trading

The size is the same on each combo by maturity. They're OTC options and the issuer would not have the ability to grant voting rights. They would have to be issued by the company.

I don't follow the reasoning. Why does the duration abrogate cash settlement?
