Help Wanted... Yahoo'rs Apply

The famous teen pump-and-dumper Jonathan Lebed used Yahoo message boards exclusively back in the late 90s. Every morning before school he'd create a bunch of new Yahoo IDs (he kept getting banned) and pump the penny stock he had chosen.
Knowing such people lurked there ought to tell you something.

Getting off topic here, but I remember the SEC went full guns blazing after this kid while ignoring much bigger financial targets. The moral of the story is that you can get away with pretty much anything if you are a financial institution (in the worst case you might have to pay a small fine years later), but if you are a rinky-dink individual, look out.

Yahoo switched those stock boards to "conversations" but with no specific topics for each ticker. As mentioned Stocktwits is pretty active and the only good thing about Twitter. Not a big help finding obscure tickers unless trending.

Yahoo message boards went under. At least one thing I can say, on ER day, aside from a million idiots posting, there were some very informative posts with insightful commentary on the company in question.

Where have all these folks gone? Doesn't anyone trade stocks anymore?

ET is the number one Google hit. Why aren't they here chatting it up here?

Today we had GOOGL, GOOG, BHI, AEP, BMY, CAT, CELG, DEO, ETFC, FCAU, F, .... blah blah blah... a dozen more... http://www.nasdaq.com/earnings/earnings-calendar.aspx

Not one bit of discussion.

These are big earnings reports! There's YUGE money to be made before and after.

All we have here talking stocks is me, Phil, and Haji, Jamie J, Eganon, and MJ Fletcher. WTF?

I guess everyone here is just an automated trader playing forex....

The money's in stocks and playing the earnings. Where did all the Yahoo'rs go?
Maybe some of these folks left after Yahoo swapped out their old message boards for this new format under "Conversations". I don't know why yahoo had to mess with a good thing. You can still find people on there making comments. Just go to yahoo finance, enter your symbol and click the "Conversations" tab to the right of "Summary". You can still find ticker specific posts but the new format sucks.
