Help to build 6-8 Monitor trading PC.

Quote from philipjb:

One of my friend has 8 monitors in 1 computer

Well 4 or 6 monitors for Chartings etc..etc..
Other 2 or 4.. for news, twitter, skype, etc..etc..

When trading with real money, its important to be alerted with everything going on in the world..

Currently i use 2 monitors.. and very hard to move around, switching screens, etc..etc..

Don't have space for 4-monitor rig? 24's instead of smaller?

24 inches looks more convenient i believe

Would you recommend any model which has DVI, HDMI ports as well?

Not really. The primary value to HDMI/DP is that they include audio with one connection. Not sure what the percentage of monitors today include HDMI/DP... some of mine do, some don't. Regardless, I use the DVI ports (or DVI-DP adapter) in all cases but one.

I do recommend you check out the 1920x1200 vs 1920x1080 monitors... the former being preferred.

24"ers are good especially if they can rotate into portrait mode... lots of screen RE without taking up so much desk space.

No. Mine are from before LED.

However, I have both LEDs and LCDs TVs (plasma & projection, too for that matter).. and the LED ones don't have the best picture.... plasma's the best. I know "LED's the current rage", but it's not even a given that LED > LCD. The last TV I bought was and LCD and was surprised to see that its pic was better than the LED one I'd bought just before. In either case, not really all that much difference.

I know Dell and I believe HP have IPS ones, 1920 x 1200 which get good customer reviews and are $400-ish.

How is Xeon E3-1225 V2 Ivy Bridge 3.2GHz Processor is it much better/faster than i7 3770K ?

better and faster is all relative to your workload... the two main differentiators will be bandwidth, which determines expandability, and reliability... within the same family/architecture, speed is relevant... otherwise, not as much...

Guys i am bit confused on which graphics card to go for

I wouldn't get either... HD7750 was a light-midweight gamer card in its day, 7850 is a strong gamer card.

Suggest workstation cards for trading.. something from the Nvidia Quadro NVS line.... 290, 295, 300, 310, 420, 450, or 510.

Or, Nvidia GeForce GT 610, GT630/640.. or GT430

or FirePro 2270 or 2460... the new FirePro V4900 runs 3 monitors... ~$159
