Help to build 6-8 Monitor trading PC.

Ok,

I have made some choices on the Mobos, which one should i go for guys

1) ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77
2) ASUS Maximus V Formula/Assassins C3 LGA - Nice to have Wireless builtin in to the Motherboard. Looks more like Gaming MotherBoard
3) GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H LGA
4) GIGABYTE GA-X79-UP4 LGA 2011

Ram would be
16GB or 32 GB.. i think it would be like 8GB X 2 or 8GB x 4.. Not seen a Ram module having a total of 32 GB in one piece ?
I have option of Crosair Brand.

Processor would be
1) i7-3770K Processor Ivy Bridge - 3rd Generation

- Check out PCPartPicker.com for building a system.
- Get an AMD/ATI FirePro 2460 for a quiet, cool, 4-display "trading specific" graphics card.
- I'm leaning toward ASRock for any motherboard needs.

In theory you could get an ASRock FM2A85X-ITX motherboard + AMD A10 processor + 16-32GB RAM + FirePro 2460 and have 7 displays and be done.

The Intel version, ASRock Z77E-ITX, is also feature packed, but can only provide two displays via the IGPU, so 6 total with a FirePro 2460 if both IGPU and discrete GPU can be used at once.

But keep in mind, most folks seem to comment they would be fine with 2 or 3 displays.

And I agree with others that BYO does not provide onsite OEM-based hardware support. So you might consider getting a Lenovo desktop that could accomodate a FirePro 2460 and you'd have the best of both worlds.

16GB of RAM is going to be fine. Just don't be shy about loading up on RAM. Not so much for the video cards but simply that much real estate means that you can open that many more applications which will eat up RAM.

Make sure you have a 64-bit operating system.

Also, from what I've read, you'll want 23"-24" IPS displays (the Dells seem to be liked) and ideally you will be stacking these displays 3-4 below + 3 above which is why 23"-24" work better.

I would go for Seagate Momentus XT 500GB (SATA 3Gbps) or 750GB (SATA 6Gbps) hybrid hard drives.

you can't have 8 monitors on 1 computer you need at least 2 but why 8 monitors? you can see a lot with 3 or 4 27 inch monitors. it seems like overkill.

One of my friend has 8 monitors in 1 computer

Well 4 or 6 monitors for Chartings etc..etc..
Other 2 or 4.. for news, twitter, skype, etc..etc..

When trading with real money, its important to be alerted with everything going on in the world..

Currently i use 2 monitors.. and very hard to move around, switching screens, etc..etc..

you can easily have 16 monitors in a single computer... the cards will cost you more than the computer itself, but you can put in two Matrox M9188 x16s with an E5 without issues...
