Help me understand volume/price relationship

It is very confusing
Sometimes volume goes up price goes up
but sometimes it goes down or stays the same
Sometimes colume goes down price goes up or it doesnt
Maybe it goes up maybe down i donno


this makes no sense to me how those two supposed to work

I dont get it
Then other times i see no change in volume and price is allover the place

So whats the point of having volume chart if its erratic ans unrelated to price movement?

Volume just tells you that a lot of people are interested in trading around that price.

My advice is to spend your time on trading research in other quarters than volume, unless you are in contact with a user of volume who is willing to school you specifically on how it do what it do.

Price and volume are are cointegrated. It means they generally move in the same direction. Price is more efficient around average volumes. There’s no lead-lag relationship.

Take a look at volume at price rather than per bar volume. Look at the volume profile.
