I can respect all the traders out there who are having issues with esignal (and other vendors). But, I have to say something here.
I have been trading for over 14 years, now, and I have not seen any software out there that compares to ESignal. These guys got it right.
There charting package is reliable, fast, and graphically appealing.
There data is fast.
And, there scanning software is incredible.
I run 20charts with the scanning software over a fiber optic internet connection (Verizon Fios) and have no problems.
Now to the point:
If you are trading for a living, meaning your tax filing status is 'Trader in securities' and you don't have a second job, then you are treating trading as a business. In any business you would make sure you have adequate tools (software, internet connection, computer hardware, etc.). This requires start up capital, which hopefully you have if you own your own business.
The people I run into in this business mainly use trading as a hobbie. Guess what, if you trade and lose money year over year the IRS calls it a hobbie and they will shut you down.
So instead of complaining about esignal and the many 'problems' you are having, consider running a Trace IP and see how crappy your internet connection is, FIRST. Then call your ISP and see what you can do to get a STATIC IP address. If one is not available in your area, rent space in an area where you can get one. This is how you run a business.
If you wake up at 10amEST in your underwear and place a few trades and make 600 bucks (50USD in commissions) and your charts and data are slow while you run a 6Mbps cable modem connection that has 15hops and 100% packet loss GUESS WHAT?...it is not esignal's fault. It's yours.
The guys (and gals) that are "sniper" traders have offices right next to the nasdaq mainframe in NYC and pay tens of thousand of dollars in rent. They make money. They don't complain about software and commissions.
They, also, use Realtick and Esignal and Redi and all the other tools that you and I use. The only difference is they make sure that their infrastructure is AIR TIGHT!
My advice: figure it out. If you want some help, send me a message and I will give you advice. And I won't charge you anything.
