Help building my first PC

I want to build my own PC without any experience.

I need help choosing mother board so I wouldn't run into a problem such as cooling fan doesn't fit etc

any tips are greatly appreciated.

This is what I want:

Pentium 4 2.4 GHz w/800MHz front bus
Ram 512MB Dual Channel 400MHz DDR
Hard Drive 40GB 7200RPM
Video card Nvidia Quadro4 nvs 400 (4ports) or,
Matrox G650 Digital video card

any suggestions?
 
It used to be that u can save alot of $ $ building ur own system . Now its not the same anymore unless u are upgrading only the mb/cpu combo. The fun is still there but not the $$.
 
from ur description, i think u can do better buying a refurbished dell or get one of their monthly specials and then add the vc and stuff afterward.
 
More RAM. Half a gig is pretty good, a whole gig is very nice.

Check out the reviews on the various mainboards. Go hang out at places like SharkyExtreme and Anandtech.

Get the best prices at Pricewatch.

Get a good power supply.

Get a good case (I highly recommend Lian-Li).

Consider buying another disk so you can run RAID and have faster disk access.

Learn about the current trends at Intel and AMD to try to make your system capable of one CPU upgrade.

NewEgg generally has pretty good prices, and they are a widely respected vendor.

Set aside plenty of time to assemble, debug and test your new system. It's a lot of fun, but it can take hours.

If one shops carefully and chooses one's components well, one can still save a nice chunk of change in addition to getting optimal performance for the buck. Possibly even more if one already has an OS.

That's why you want to read multiple reviews on whichever mainboard you select. Hit your favorite search engine for reviews.

Norton Ghost to clone Primary HD to Secondary for complete backup
APC SmartUPS 1400

Most parts available at local computer shows or local pc store.

Online costs a little more and difficult on returns of defective parts.
 
Does realy "Xviewtechnology"(TRikentics) make best
trading PCs?
What if you go for higher configured PC and it will be
not costlier than theirs, and then can you beat them?
