Help a brother out picking a platform...

I am using Tradevec too for sometimes and its the ONLY software using TT FIX that can handle:

1. unfiltered data with no latency from TT Fix on hundreds of symbols, i use 64bit vista and its very fast.

2. Handles the overnight across session order transfers

3. Also i can login from one PC, put on positions and logout then go home and login to my home pc and all my positions are reconstructed!

I had to bitch my broker for a while as they has screwed up some setting on tt fix which cleared my positions every night but now thats resolved and Tradevec handles it fine.

Add to that the most unreal charting i have ever seen in 20 years of trading, it really is a spectacular piece of work. Cheaper then XTrader, and i heard they are developing spread trading windows soon as well.

:D

Agreed. State of the art.

Blows away NT, TS and everthing else I've tried.

Hi,

i am in Houston, but we also have an office in Chicago.

i just wanted to say that i used tradestation since it was system writer a dos program back in the 80's and owned every software their is practically. there are features in tradestation to this day that were put there specifically for me at my recommendation.

i have been using tradevec for "9 years" now and helping direct its features and functionally etc. this program has been very instrumental to making me boat loads of money and it is a double edge sword for me to see it get out in the public.

however i will support the developers choice to make it available to others and figure i owe it to them to help with being a referral for the program. this is the most intensely thought out trading program ever. real traders built this platform with the intentions of using it to make money.

Can anyone confirm that all TT-FIX based apps clear out position files at the eod? It seems to be the case but I havent been told this is an absolute yet.

Out of all the platforms Advantage offers only the CTS T4 platform seems to explicity support overnights... maybe i just dont get it but i find it hard to believe none of these platforms easily support multi day holding periods.

You should look at OEC. They keep the positions and P&L 24x7. You still get statements but all the accounting is in the software. The software is also multi-currency if you trade DAX or anything non-US. Also, you get day trading margins (10% of the mini-indices) 24 hours a day. Hard to beat. If you are trading size their rates go as low as $0.25 per side.

Here's the problem... I want to be able to take overnight positions and be able to trade them wherever I want, ie. put them on at the trading desk, trade globex from home at night or in the a.m., then be able to go back to the office and see all my positions and p/l accurately reflected. Sounds simple right? Strangely (to me at least) no...
Noone at Advantage has been willing or able to answer my question as to which platform has all the above capabilities.

Thanks...

forget the platform, you need a good broker.

www.mfglobal.com

ny office? ask for krista - shes helpful.

different platforms available, and always the ability to call a desk if the tech goes lemon. none of this ib shit where your stuck if the tech fails at either end.

dma is great, but sometimes you need to pick up the cell... especially when the water co' digs through your line.....
