I always thought the iwatch was a joke. What niche does it fill? Its more of a fashion statement. A phone will give you everything the iwatch can do.
You may be the wrong demographic for the Apple watch, but as you said time will tell whether it will catch on or not...

They are very nice watches made in my home state on traditional equipment. Very small production, I really don't know enough about their market to say about investment value. I have always bought what I like, rather than for investment. The one rule of thumb in most brands is to buy in the secondary market if possible. sorry about not being able to say one way or the other with real knowledge.
