Actually Tim never claimed to be a great trader--in fact he admits that here:

No, he did very well for 2 years (when everyone else was crushing it too). His performance from 99-01 was done by many traders in every trading shop across the country.

Again, the book is better read as a 'troubled birth of a new business' story. Imagine that instead of a $1.5m fund, he sank $1.5m into buying a country store and fixing it up (as did a guy down the street from me). Then everyone would read it 'the right way'.

If the chuckleheads who've dissed him for the past 40 e'trader pages were to actually RTFB instead of guessing at its contents, all this would be clear.

I'm sure my figures are not totally accurate, they're from memory. if the kid had half a brain he would have kept those figures on this board so there is no confusion.

They certainly don't seem that great. Not enough to write a book about.

Hell, I've done far better than that over those years, but I don't have quite the AUM...yet.
