Going from 280 ppm to 400 ppm is indeed a 40% increase, but that still represents only 4 100ths of 1% of the earths atmosphere.
The watermelons just love hitting the gullible Chicken Little's on the head over and over with the 40% rise thing....... it sounds so much more dramatic then 0.028% to 0.040%

So at even at 0.03% of the atmosphere, CO2 is earth's most important greenhouse gas. The greenhouse effect keeps the earth some 50 degrees warmer than it would be without it. We have increased that by 40%. How could that NOT cause warming?

I could quote the advocates of AGW web pages that say Water Vapor has a far greater GH effect then CO2....but then you'd just take no notice of it. I could point you to the research of many scientist who claim that CO2 is not the driver of climate since it never has been in the past......... but you'd just state that they're in the pay of the big fossil fuel industry. Never once would you consider the tens of thousands of people who's rice bowl is dependent on the promotion of AGW opinions be anything but as pure as God. I could ask about periods in earths past when it was much warmer.....but then you'd state anything other than the past 200 years since the start of the industrial revolution is totally irreverent..........after squawking 40% a few more times you'd site 10,000 year old Ice Core samples or some centuries old tree rings. I could question the paradox of the watermelons prophecies of server weather, ......droughts, hurricanes, polar vortexes and great famine....but if cold dry air smashing into warm moist air is the cause of server weather wouldn't GW cause these differences to be less, if warm air holds more moister then cold air wouldn't GW reduce drought. . We all know that if the watermelon prophets came out with their Hysteria of Global Warming but concluded that nothing really bad is going to happen....or that maybe all we get is warmer by half a degree over the next 50 years......no one would listen, and the socialists would have a hard time promoting their latest swindle of a Carbon Tax. I could elaborate on all the other gaps and inconsistencies in the assertion of the AGW crowd that cause my skepticism................but it would be unquestionably a waste of time............the end result would only be your eventual use of your virtual cornucopia of potty mouth insults and name calling....... your assertion of just another Right-Wing nut job........the poor sufferer of conservative propaganda.
