Health Insurance

Quote from bigarrow:

1) you are wrong Phoenix, I've asked the billing people about how much the PT would cost because workers comp wasn't going to pay for the therapy that was working. They refused to quote me a price. This has happened in a different instance with a hospital.
2) yeah I do, they are F*ing crooks and liars. The hospitals and insurance are in competition in seeing who can be the biggest con.

1) Well unless you knew the exact treatment codes and duration of said treatments they wouldn't know. And it doesn't surprise me that some worker drone in billing is not going to be willing to get into a verbal contract with you. That being said you should have been able to get a price for each code and estimate a private pay quite easily especially if the treatments were all going to be the same. Problem is a therapist isn't going to be inclined to renegotiate with you every time there needs to be a change/ evaluation of your Plan of care. They have better things to do, like treat pts and shuffle gubbermint required paperwork.

People don't seem to get that the exact charges for treatments are not known beforehand. It's like taking your car to a mechanic and say it don't run give me a price quote before you start.

2) yeah right. I find it kinda telling you being on workman's comp.
MY experience with workman's comp pts is they exaggerate so much that the clinical picture makes no damn sense.
