Health insurance for traders

Is anyone aware of a group that offers membership to itself that also offers health insurance through a group policy....?


I'm in NY so I need to join a group.

I know that Bright Trading offers Blue Cross/Bl Shield to its traders...some kind of group plan. I *think* Echotrade does as well, although Robert Tharp would be the authority.

It seems logical (sure...) that if we could form some type of association that we could probably get some company to offer us a group plan.

Hope someone elso on the board is more knowledgeable than I...I would like to know about this myself.

Costco sells health insurance? Why doesn't that surprise me all that much? Maybe Sam's club has a group plan for their "members." Who woulda thunk?

Do we have any insurance people on the board? Maybe they can help.

I was wondering if one could still join ieee if they are not an engineer.



I just need to get health insurance through a group....

I suggest that you contact them. I recommended the insurance to a friend of mine, and he found them very accomodating.

The main carrier is Cigna PPO. They also have dental, vision, life etc.
 
Check out your local chamber of commerce. I became an independant computer consultant last year so I had to get my own health insurance back then. From what I have gathered it is one of the cheapest ways to get it when you are self employed.
