  • The market needs AAPL to report good earnings.
  • AAPL should spike after earnings.

Option positions to consider


Open sometime on Tuesday before earnings, close after earnings.
  • Long 1-strike OTM QQQ weekly call options (1st choice).
  • and/or
  • Long 5-strikes OTM AAPL weekly call options.


Also consider long OTM calls on TWTR.

  • AAPL at $115.28
  • Your target price is about 5-strikes OTM, which happens to by my choice of AAPL call options.
  • The 1-strike OTM QQQ call options should pack more of a punch than the AAPL options if $120 is breached.
  • Tomorrow is another day and my chosen option strikes will vary depending on AAPL and the overall market.

With this price, even if Apple report disappointing results, stock would not drop much. Or might finish the day even higher.

Since the market is trending upwards I will always buy calls. That eliminates one of the decisions - to buy Calls or Puts.

Earnings are very unpredictable, trying to pick a direction just makes things more difficult. So I go with the market trend.

I feel like it all depends if people in China gonna buy Apple products. Do the Chinese buy quality like AAPL or do they buy the Xiaomi's at a lesser price. I wonder how it'll turn out for them. Apple is valued by those who can afford it, and that group is constantly growing. The Chinese sure like to buy quality items for themselves, just as much as they do to sale junk abroad, so I'm being positive about this.
