He Was Supposed to Be Competent

Quote from traderNik:

No kidding. The decline of the extreme right is becoming manifest in so many ways over the past 4 years or so. This type of thing just hastens their demise. Pure politics, and nothing more. Geaorge Bush fiddled while New Orleans drowned, and now the extremist right are pointing fingers when the only people with the expertise to fix this problem are the contractors involved.

Peggy Noonan is not from the extreme right. You, however, based on your response to the article appear to be an extreme leftist.

To the lefty presidential jock sniffers -- have you ever lived in a gulf state... have you any idea how much destruction is happening. Red tide knocked the fish, what do you think this will do. You think that the President did the correct thing by playing golf and raising funds in Ca.

Oh wait some of you jock sniffers are not even Americans.

Amazing Republicans are criticizing and blaming Obama for this

If you didn't know... the Republicans are the party of drill baby drill

WHY OBAMA'S SINKING IN THE POLLS
By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN

Dick Morris pays for prostitutes and sucks their toes.

When you owe back taxes just join the fox news crowd and bash the president

Quote from risktaker:

If there's somebody to blame there, it would be the head of the government dept. that oversees how these companies are operating & if they're doing so in a safe manner.

You're correct.

Seems like anytime there is a disaster there is some Government dept. that has messed up.

The lesson to be learned is to retract the Govt tentacles from our lives.

Be patient.

If Obama is one term, it'll be very interesting to see what he does next. What do you do after being President?

I suggest this in light of the fact that he didn't do much of anything before becomiing President.

As President he has many resources at his disposal to help him out and guide him, much of this will leave when he leaves.

Imo, we'll see a former President with little substance and not much to offer in his service to his country in any capacity.

Stupid idea, the only reason the energy industry is as clean and safe as they are is because of government regulation.
Better regulation is the answer to the problem.
You guys on the right are totally clueless.

Retract? Not strengthen and properly enforce? You want the likes of BP to have free reign? Yeah, that'll work. :p

You are, of course, referring to W.

W paid his dues, he can retire and I'm fine with that. Obama is a young guy, probably jet around offering commentary on the irony of constitutional law.

(Terror trials in NYC, a mosque at ground zero, how much fun it was buzzing GS with air force one, that sort of thing)
