"He Never Went In": Officer On Duty Filmed "Doing Nothing" During Florida Shooting

The thing is, this zones attract maniacs, because they know there will be no fighting back. The mere fact that they wouldn't feel safe and wouldn't have the security that they could make the greatest number of victims before someone shoots back would correct this. Even if most teachers aren't effectively armed. Because they would concealed carry, every adult in the school is potentialy a person that could draw a firearm and kill him and then his goal would be dead and there's no way he can know which ones are armed or not.

This would make this proposition even more effective than a security guard in every school, since due to cost, there couldn't be too many of them and they would be targeted first because they are easily identifiable.

But when each and every adult in and around the school might be carrying a gun, he has potentially a lot of people that would shoot him down and there is no possible way to identify or neutralize them before killing others.

So, in effect, the real objective of the idea is not to make teachers engage in shooting with maniacs(this ist he last resort, worst case scenario), but effectively end the effect that draws these lunatics to schools and prevent this from ever happening in the first place.:)

Close quarters combat is the most dangerous type of fire fight you can get into. This isn’t shooting at the range. This is the type of combat swat teams and navy seals train in. If a deputy police officer isn’t going to get involved what do you think an algebra teacher will do?

You're actually mistaken. I was surprised to see how many school shootings there were in all those countries where gun control is very strict and even death penalty is applied. China is a surprising example for the great number of shootings and even Japan, who for so many is the "poster land" for gun control, had 1. It's interesting to organize the list by country to get a more visual sense. To me, logic is enough to realize that gun control is worthless and solves nothing, but this adds to the proof of it:

The fact that people who are willing to break the law by killing will have no problem breaking the law by illegaly buying a gun and will stop at nothing until they get that gun should be sufficient that making laws will not solve the problem.
In addition, taking away guns from people who fight for the right to carry them legally is pretty stupid, because if they are concerned about not being able to carry it legally, that means they would respect this minor law by not carrying, which means they obviously respect a much more important law: not to kill.

So, in the end, they will loose their right to defend themselves, which is their CONSTITUTIONAL right.
And the ones who are willing to break the law in it's worse form(murder) will do it anyway, since someone who is willing to murder has absolutely NO RESPECT FOR ANY LAW WHATSOEVER.

That might have been feasible when people worked until 60 and had a life expectancy of 67 while making 20k/year.
Cops/Teachers in my area make 6 figures and retire at 50 then take another union job and work the minimum to double dip another pension then live like Kings and Queens for a few decades.

Please tell me how you can pay someone $2,000,000 plus healthcare over twenty years NOT TO WORK?!!!

Oh, and don’t even get me started on the Overtime scam for the police. I have a friend who made 40% more than his regular salary ($160,000 total) in Overtime shifts- And he said he was one of the lower OT guys in his town!

No fantasy whatsoever. You assume that a teacher is going out on an offensive operation. In fact, many schools train the teachers to shelter in place, secure their classroom, lock the door, put get behind desks whatsoever. They are not necessarily going out on the offense. Then the shooter fucker comes along and tries to enter or shoot into the classroom.

Do you think it is fantasy to think that if the teacher had a weapon and started shooting in a defensive manner as the shooter tried to entere the classroom or fire in it would not be a deterrent? Get a grip.

Also, your type keeps referring to "teachers with a few hours of training" type of dismissive type of comments. A massive number of people outside of pussyville already know how to shoot quite well. No teacher should be required or pressured to participate, but teachers of good character and good skill who are in the school and wish to participate should be welcomed.

And to your absurd point about the AR-15. Do I think a teacher with a 9mm "is going to engage a shooter with AR 15" trying to enter the classroom? ahhhhh, duhh. yes I think maybe. What is the alternative? Just bend over and kiss your arse goodbye as we see so often?
