I run 2 software programs on my computer. One is for execution and the other charting. My execution platform has a VPN, but my charting software doesn't need it.

How can I have my execution software run through the VPN and my charting software go to the web without the vpn?

Can I use 2 NIC cards one for each program?
 
Loss of internet access while the vpn is connected is not unusual. Your internet client is trying to use the VPN tunnel to access the internet. Try unchecking "use default gateway on remote network" in the internet client setup. This will allow access to the internet while the vpn is connected; however, I could not confirm that the VPN connection was secure in this mode.

What I would like to accomplish is.....having one software platform go through the vpn and the other direct. My charting will not go login if I have the vpn logged in. so I have to use 2 computers, but would rather use one.
