Have you heard of Deliberate Practice in Trading Before?

I gave the free trial a whirl.
Module #1 covers swing highs and lows.
Took me about 2 hrs to complete. Very repetitive.
Probably could have been quicker but I was also watching golf on TV.

I think that even for a complete beginner this would be boring.

You had better make module # 1 more interesting somehow or you'll lose customers before they get started.

Very good point and in fact the Military uses the Deliberate practice concept a lot for the training and development of best soldiers and agents. Found this interesting article about that :)

Very good point and that is on top of major challenging aspect of the Deliberate Practice in our list:
  • Repetitive practice of a specific drill: Repetition is important to develop trader's habits and enhance the speed and fluency of execution.
  • Designed outside trainee’s comfort zone
  • Requires sustained concentration
  • Be receptive to corrective feedbacks
  • No immediate rewards or instant gratification
This repetition is really needed in order to create fluency and habit/skill for the person (to act without thinking!), so there is no short-cut for that. We converted lessons to short animated videos and added gamification to LMS to make it more attractive for learners.
 
I don't disagree that repetitive practice is necessary. I'm just suggesting that you make it interesting.

Increase the difficulty in each exercise.
Mix it up a bit; instead of having 3 choices ( 2 of each choice) have one exercise where you have 4 of one choice and one each of the others.
Have another where you pick swing highs and lows without them being identified.

Lose the animation. I felt like I was back in kindergarten. What is the objective of the point system?

I'll admit that I have only completed Module #1; however if that is an example of the rest of the course, I'm not sure I would be willing to pay what you are asking.

I've been at this for some time and am trying to think back to when I started; I think that identifying trends is one of the first thing I learned of which swing highs and lows were an integral part. I'm not sure I would have gained anything by having your course back then.

Possibly explaining why identifying those swings is important might help.
 
Too late to edit the last post but what are the chances that one could skip to the final exam for each module. If you get better than 90% on the final exam the Module would be free of charge.

I have a lot of respect for you so I know I am preaching to the choir.

The key word is "deliberate", so you have to consciously force yourself into an uncomfortable zone while practicing. I won't sign up but I think these guys maybe on to something.

Kind of my tongue in cheek prior comment: With my <40% win rate, I had to force myself to stay with a losing trade instead of "cut my loss" and get out too early. It is extremely difficult to hang in there in the face of mounting losses, like during Mar 2020.

Hi Deaddog,

Thanks for your good suggestions to make our Price Action Algo Trading Coaching system more interesting, which we will consider!

We discuss the difference between the Trend vs Sideways pattern in Advance Price Action Modules 2, 3, and 4.
Briefly explaining, one will see gradually through these modules that each Swing High (SH) or Swing Low (SL) is a turning point that creates the price waves, so with:
1 SL + 1 SL = 1 Range Line
2 SL + 2 SH = 3 Range Lines = 1 Dynamic channel (DC)
Each DC has a pattern that has its own direction and range, which we categorize into Trending patterns or Sideways patterns as shown in the attached picture.

With momentum analysis, we will see the interconversion of patterns and are prepared when a Trend is emerging (so we will not miss our best friend) and when it is ending (turns to our worse enemy).

We programmed our LMS (Learning Management System) in a way that learner has to complete all Lessons, Practice Drills, and Exams in a certain order and cannot escape anyone.

I don't mind uncomfortable, I relish a challenge, I really dislike boring.

The first module was boring enough that I'm not going to bother with the next 2 even though they are free.

Keep in mind that I'm quite content with where I'm at, not looking to try anything drastically new. Old Dog --- New tricks :D
