Have question regarding adding a laptop...

Hi, Im thinking of buying a laptop to devote it solely to websites for trading info, and for chat... leaving my main comp strictly for trading platform and broker.

My question is, do i have to pay more money to get internet connection for the laptop?? I mean is there a way i can connect it through my present cable modem that has an open USB port??

Or what if i get a wireless laptop??

Thanks.... im really a dummy when it comes to tech stuff.
 
Buy a wireless Router, 99% of today's laptops have wireless Card's built in, you can always hardwire it through the ethernet port into the router as well. The Cable modem gets connected to the Router, which then gets wired to the machine(s).

No additional cost, other than the router!

Buy all the stuff and we will walk you through wiring it 1-2-3!

I have a Linksys Wireless G Broadband Router and am very happy with it.
 
Configure it... that is pretty easy.

I bought one *I also broke it like most things... just don't try flashing the BIOS*

Plug it in and your done.

Be sure to get a wireless router though, unless you feel like purchasing extra cables.

Linksys and Netgear routers I like.
