Isolation Centers located in Nursing Homes which are populated by residents who don't have COVID are different?
Simply because they named one wing as a "Isolation Center" and put new COVID-positive people in it.
Yes.. .the result from this.... just like in New York was that ALL the residents got infected. The staff was not able to "isolate" COVID to one mere wing of the facility. This was the same thing nursing homes in New York tried to do and it failed miserably. Why would DeSantis in Florida expect different results doing the exact same thing.
This is why Florida has to shut down this "isolation center" program in October -- each and every facility was overrun with COVID.
All of this so a large DeSantis donor with a criminal background could make extra money off the taxpayers.
What would you do have them make brand new elder care facilities?

Go read all the posts in the DeSantis thread.... everyone getting infected, the criminal background of his large donor, and Florida needing to stop using "Isolation Centers" in October after all of them were overrun -- is all completely documented. Ignoring that DeSantis ignored advice from medical doctors not to create Isolation Centers.
The last thing you should be doing is creating "Isolation Centers" in existing nursing homes and bringing in COVID-positive patients from the outside into the facilities. This is one of the stupidest ideas in existence and DeSantis supported it because his large donor wanted to make money off of taxpayers. I will also mention that this is exactly what he criticized New York for doing.

Now its seems the execution of the plan did not work out well. But the articles did not state it was because the isolation centers infected the healthy areas.
If you were to argue that if the different wing shared the same air system... than that would be a problem if they did not sanitize the air.
