Have EVs been overhyped as taking over Gas vehicles? Is realization setting in?

Good in some metro areas;
talking snake media promoted them to much, way too many problems on them for me.

I live in the boonies and I have a Tesla with a home charger that only takes a few hours. I can go 400km on $10 - $15 and there are Tesla superchargers on every route if I want to go farther. Gas is done. My ride along is even electric ..my leaf blower, my snow blower, my weed eater etc.

Same for me. I switched over everything to electric and it's been awesome. I even got rid of all my corded tools and replaced them all with battery-powered versions. I personally would never go back to anything gas-powered. I even got my wife to switch her car out to electric and even though she was reluctant at first, now she absolutely loves it.

And honestly the most environmentally friendly solution that you can provide to slow down climate change is actually to be frugal, consume what you really need. The most environment-saving way is not driving an EV but not driving at all or taking public transportation even but walking or biking or staying home and working remotely. During covid, many most heavily polluted cities in the world like Mumbai, India saw blue skies for the first time since God knows when. And many cities saw their pollution level drop by 90+%. That should tell you something.

WALKING,, LOL good + wise :D:D.
IBKR founder father had an ad , he was on a horse, around a bunch of yellow tax cabs LOL.
His bottom line== never chose an ordinary investment vehicle:caution::caution::caution::caution::caution::caution:,:caution::caution:
That'$ also very good , green pasture pattern.{-NOT that all on horses will help a SEC climate change scam requirement\ it will not . Big climate NOt going to happen to US -} -Biggest mess past 200 year is when all rode horses on city streets LOL :caution::caution:

The feasibility of EVs has been over-hyped. They have several things going against them, not least of which is a lack of charging infrastructure. However, that's a moot point anyway because the power grid is so old it wouldn't be able to handle the load. EV adoption is dead in the water.

You probably still whatcha videos in VHS. I can charge up my Tesla in 6 hours from empty and travel 440km...how often do you drive farther that that in a daily basis? Also, even in the boonies I have Tesla supercharger stations in every route. It's totally being adopted ..no choice as gas is done. In Denmark I don't think you can even drive gas cars in the city center anymore ..not making gas cars after 2033 in Canada I think...so you won't really have a choice as you will be restricted out of driving anywhere eventually.

P.S even knowing this I am still buying the last ICE that lotus is making this year:)

A few states in the US have dates like this too but I think everyone knows they will just be pushed out once the time comes.

It wasn't that long ago that ethanol was going to save the planet. Even the slightest bit of research at the time made the idea of running society on the energy density of corn obviously something that is not going to work.

At least with ethanol we were actually trying a different energy source and not just hiding the energy source like we are with EVs. The irony is that you are watching a streaming VHS play back over the internet and pretending the source is something else just because you can't see the VHS player.

I imagine in 15 years we will come up with some new narrative that people believe in but doesn't actually solve anything either.

The push for EV's should be where they are most practical...fleets, taxis, buses, delivery, etc...
They charge over night, leave for work during the day, return to base to re-charge.
