Hate Speech?

Quote from maxpi:

If I argue against gay marriage by describing gay men as sex addicts that like to f%^k each other in their hairy stinking @ssholes and form a horribly diseased subculture...
Perhaps you would find some relief if you didn't think about it quite so much and in such vivid detail...

Quote from phenomena:

That being the case. What consenting adults do in the privacy of their own homes is ultimately none of our business, at all.

Thats the problem though. They are not in the privacy of their own homes. They are on TV and newspapers and walking around in public making their business everyone elses and telling us we have no right to believe that homosexuality is wrong. They want us to change laws around so they can go into our churches that condemn homosexuality and get married there. But more than that they want us to change our beliefs about them and will call us foul names, boycott our businesses, and sometimes even act violently towards us for not changing our beliefs.

Do you ever notice that Christians do not go around telling everyone that beastility is wrong, or incest, or polygamy? Thats because those types keep it to themselves and dont go promoting themselves. When you see them in public, they do not act like odd human beings (well...maybe a few polygamists do). Homosexuals do odd things. Men act like women and women act like men. They cut their bodies to become the opposite sex.

But if people came out and started saying beastiality is ok, or incest or polygamy, you would find tons of opposition to that and many would speak out against it. If homosexuals want to be free to do whatever they want in the privacy of their own home...they should stay in their own homes and be quiet about it. Stop making TV shows about homosexuals living together and having relationships like its normal. Can you imagine if they put TV shows on where a man was having a relationship with his dog or sister

"If I argue against gay marriage by describing gay men as sex addicts that like to f%^k each other in their hairy stinking @ssholes and form a horribly diseased subculture, is that hate speech?"

No it is not hate speech.

It is the speech of a republican who persecutes gays before he comes out of the closet and admits that he is a homosexual...

Quote from maxpi:

If I argue against gay marriage by describing gay men as sex addicts that like to f%^k each other in their hairy stinking @ssholes and form a horribly diseased subculture, is that hate speech? I'm just trying to steer people away from unhealthy behavior and I don't think that a sane culture would encourage such behavior if it thought about it... I would be bringing factual news would I not? AIDS is a horrible disease, the infected person actually rots then dies, usually it's the other way around, not to mention the other diseases found in the gay subculture... and talk about political clout, check google news for "flesh eating bacteria gay".... nothing!! No news at all on that, but a simple google search turns up one article from January 2008 then after that apparently there is a news blackout...

"Flesh-Eating" Bacteria Striking Gay Men
Disease spread primarily through anal intercourse

By Matthew Cullinan Hoffman

SAN FRANCISCO, January 15, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A new medical study appearing in the Annals of American Medicine shows that homosexuals are spreading a new, highly-infectious and extremely dangerous bacteria amongst themselves, most probably through anal intercourse.

The bacterium, called MRSA USA300, is impervious to front-line antibiotics and can only be treated with rarer drugs, primarily Vancomycin. Researchers say that the bug, which is a type of staphylococcus, is primed to develop immunity to that drug as well.

Infected patients may have inflammation, abscesses, and tissue loss in the affected areas. Although the bacterium does not literally "eat" the body, it manufactures toxins that can cause "necrosis" - the death of surrounding tissue.

The study's authors note that the strong link between unhealthy behavior, particularly among homosexuals, is the driving force behind the disease. "Spread of the USA300 clone among men who have sex with men is associated with high-risk behaviors, including use of methamphetamine and other illicit drugs, sex with multiple partners, participation in a group sex party, use of the internet for sexual contacts, skin-abrading sex, and history of sexually transmitted infections," the authors write.

"The same patterns of increased sexual risk behaviors among men who have sex with men - which have resulted from changes in beliefs regarding HIV disease severity with the availability of potent antiretroviral therapy - have been driving resurgent epidemics of early syphilis, rectal gonorrhea, and new HIV infections in San Francisco, Boston, and elsewhere," add the researchers.

The study, which focused on clinics in the San Francisco area, found that in some cases up to 39% of patients had the MRSA USA300 infections in their genitals or buttocks, although the disease can be spread by general skin-to-skin contact and can even be picked up from surfaces.

Observing that "Infection with multidrug-resistant USA300 MRSA is common among men who have sex with men," the study timidly concludes that "multidrug-resistant MRSA infection might be sexually transmitted in this population," and counsels "further research."

It is estimated that in San Francisco's Castro District, which has the highest concentration of homosexuals in the country, the infection rate is 1 in every 588 residents. One in every 3,800 residents of San Francisco are infected. Homosexuals are 13 times more likely to be infected than others in the city.

The disease is not only spreading in San Francisco, but also Boston, New York and Los Angeles. In addition to homosexuals, people who are ill or have weakened immune systems are particularly susceptible. MRSA and other types of staphylococcus bacteria, often spread in hospitals, kill more than 19,000 Americans each year, a rate higher than deaths due to AIDS.

Peter LaBarbara, president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, is hoping that the revelation of yet another homosexual epidemic will have an impact on the public's perception of homosexual behavior. "I think that the media, and Hollywood, and a lot of our policy makers and certainly academia are in a world of 'let's pretend' with regard to homosexual behavior and its consequences," he told LifeSiteNews. "They don't want to focus on the special risks that homosexual behavior, especially between men, have in the public health arena, and issues like this keep coming up."

However, LaBarbara acknowledges that the major media will "invariably spin things in a homosexual direction."

"We saw the identical thing happen 25 years ago with the reporting on AIDS," he said, "but ironically the whole AIDS crisis strengthened the homosexual lobby in this country."

Groups want FCC to police hate speech on talk radio, cable news networks
By Gautham Nagesh - 06/01/10 01:02 PM ET
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is being urged to monitor "hate speech" on talk radio and cable broadcast networks.

A coalition of more than 30 organizations argue in a letter to the FCC that the Internet has made it harder for the public to separate the facts from bigotry masquerading as news.

The groups also charge that syndicated radio and cable television programs "masquerading as news" use hate as a profit model.

"As traditional media have become less diverse and less competitive, they have also grown less responsible and less responsive to the communities that they are supposed to serve," the organizations wrote to the FCC. "In this same atmosphere hate speech thrives, as hate has developed as a profit-model for syndicated radio and cable television program masquerading as 'news.'"

The organizations, which include Free Press, the Center for Media Justice, the Benton Foundation and Media Alliance, also argue that the anonymity of the Web gives ammunition to those that would spread hate.

The groups did not mention any specific programming on the right or the left in their letter, which supports a petition filed by the National Hispanic Media Coalition last year requesting a probe of the relationship between hate speech and hate crimes.

The groups argue the Internet has made it harder for the public to separate the facts from bigotry masquerading as news.

"The Internet gives the illusion that news sources have increased, but in fact there are fewer journalists employed now than ever before. Moreover, on the Internet, speakers can hide in the cloak of anonymity, emboldened to say things that they may not say in the public eye."

"For these reasons, as the Commission deliberates how the public interest will be served in the digital age, it should consider the extent of hate speech in media, and its effects."

You may want to delay coming out of the closet buddy. You should probably continue spending date nights home alone in bed hugging your pillow, gently caressing yourself and singing along to your extensive Barry Manilow collection. It's not safe for you guys out there.

Fallen evangelical leader Ted Haggard to start new church
By the CNN Wire Staff
STORY HIGHLIGHTS
Ted Haggard's career as a pastor went south after a sex and drugs scandal in 2006
Haggard admitted to the sex allegations, but said he tossed the drugs
He also stepped aside as pastor of the 14,000-member New Life Church
First service to be Sunday at his house; "I don't expect to have another megachurch," he says
(CNN) -- Ted Haggard, the former megachurch pastor and former National Association of Evangelicals chief whose career was undone by a gay prostitution and drugs scandal in 2006, plans to start a new church.

Standing in front of his barn, Haggard and his family announced Wednesday that they are starting a church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, called Saint James.

The church, which will not be affiliated with any denomination, will have its first gathering Sunday at the Haggard home.

"All are welcome. Whether you're a Democrat, a Republican, gay, straight, bi-[sexual], tall, short, addict, recovering addict. ... I believe Jesus' arms are open to all," he said.

In 2006, Haggard acknowledged having received a massage from a Denver, Colorado, man who said that the prominent pastor had paid him for sex over three years.

Haggard also admitted he had bought methamphetamine but said he threw it away.

Those statements led the Board of Overseers at New Life Church to fire Haggard as senior pastor. The church's independent investigative board said he was guilty of "sexually immoral conduct."

After the allegations were made public, Haggard resigned as president of the influential National Association of Evangelicals, an umbrella group representing more than 45,000 churches with 30 million members.

As part of his severance package with New Life Church, Haggard was barred from speaking publicly for a year. After that time elapsed, he made various media appearances, including starring in a documentary on HBO about his life.

Sunday's service will mark his first return to the ministry in a full-time capacity.

"This is an emotional morning for me," he told reporters. Flanked by his wife Gayle and their children and grandchildren, he said the family members had prayed long and hard before deciding to start another church.

"While many believe I am not qualified, nor will I ever be because of what we've been through, I may be qualified to help other people in need," Haggard said. "I don't expect to have another megachurch. I'll be so pleased if a handful of people join with us. Something is better than nothing, and helping one is better than helping none."

In response to a question, Haggard said he had no plans to perform gay marriages at the new church; that the only marriages he will perform will be between a man and a woman.

"Those are the marriages we'll do in our church," he said. "As for society, that's a different story."

His wife said she backed the move. "I was not willing to let the scandal be the last chapter in our lives," Gayle Haggard told reporters.

In a statement, New Life Church said it "will always be grateful for the many years of dedicated leadership from Ted and Gayle Haggard and we wish their family only the best."

Gay sex scandal rocks Spokane
Mayor denies he abused boys in 1970s or misused his office

By CHRIS McGANN AND KATHY MULADY
SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER REPORTERS

Spokane Mayor Jim West, who championed an anti-gay agenda during his tenure as one of the most powerful Republicans in the Legislature, yesterday admitted to using the trappings of his current office to entice what he thought was a young adult man but denied allegations that he molested two young boys more than 20 years ago.

West confirmed to The Spokesman-Review of Spokane that he offered gifts, favors and a City Hall internship during Internet chats with a man he believed was 18. The online pen pal was actually a forensic computer expert working for the newspaper. After the story hit the newsstands yesterday, West sent city staffers a remorseful e-mail.

"I want to sincerely apologize to you personally for the shame I have brought to the Mayor's office and the city," West wrote. "I stumbled and let you down."

OK, OK, so maybe this one is just a 3 in a million abberation.
