I think we need a ''hate'' button on ET. Some members post so much garbage, that I would like to express my disgust with that, without entering a mud slinging contest.

Bad idea. Back when we had the rating system there was at least one psycho who spent most of his time and multiple sockpuppets down-rating the threads of people he didn't like. Thread quality didn't matter. Thread topic didn't matter! All that mattered to that wackjob was how he felt about the thread starter from something said that in all likelihood had nothing to do with the current thread.

No need to unleash that pathetic beast on the website again.

Perhaps the "Dislike" button requires registration of a simple/brief reason as constructive/positive feedback for improvement. That way ET's overall Quality can be improved too, accordingly.

Just ban people (algorithmically) who abuse the dislike/hate button. Websites generally don't give you this option because presumably hating stuff isn't conducive to page views. But f**k that.
