I know I'm going to get shit for this, but having been on other trading forums where the avg poster has a higher level of education, there tends to be a lot more civility. I just think ET targets the bottom of the barrel so to speak. There are some really high quality forums out there with a very high level of dialogue going on about the markets without guys issuing death threats to each other over whose got more likes or a higher post cost or a larger cock. I mean honestly it's embarrassing.

I've said this over and over again, let guys register as their full real name. None of this alias crap. When Harrytrader505 can attack Ballsofsteel007 over whose using trading strategy is better and then calling in reinforcements which to help win the argument which is really himself disguised as another trader, Arbitrage_this, to hurl insults at his family, that's when you know you have a problem. I honestly don't know what the solution is outside of forcing guys to post as themselves, like normal people.

Perhaps we could elect judges for future such [banning] matters? I vote for murray turtle, Redneck, NoDoji, Maverick, sellindexvol66 and OldTrader to be ET's supreme court judges, with Baron as Chief Justice. Things are pretty fair as is... at the moment, but absolute power eventually corrupts.

There are several reasons, some not considered, besides the decrease in active traders:

1. Many people realized that most of TA is crap. They gave up because they cannot understand the part of the TA that works.

2. Too many scammers promising high returns through courses, books, black boxes have caused a mistrust in trading in general.

3. Misinformation: this is a bιg one. People realized that they will never get a real edge from forums but only misinformation.

4. Νegative publicity for traders to the point they are embarrassed to say to friends that are trading.

5. Social media crap emergence. Most are socialbots or groups from Asian countries posing as experts.

ET is a great place for traders to exchange ideas but there is no incentive any more for doing that because you know, you give something and you must get something. Maybe the owner should try to think in terms of incentives. Just my idea.

Honestly Baron, Lucrum did not deserve to be banned, he was getting personal threats, and having his wife threatened by some kind of online stalker.

I'm sorry you feel that way. You need to understand that I have way more information in situations like this than you, and that information is what I base my decision on. Lucrum was doing the exact same things to Convexx. I like Convexx and I like Lucrum as well, for totally different reasons, but that kind of behavior will not be tolerated here....ever. Ask yourself what would have been next had things been allowed to continue? Would they have started attacking and demeaning each other's children since the wife cards had already been played? I mean, come on, that's never going to fly. Period.

Yeah your probably right, i only had access to what i saw here, so i may be wrong, but from what ive gotten to know about lucrum, he never would have started in on that kind of garbage if he didnt already have some loon going after him outside of the forum, in real life.

How bout, in the name of compassion during the christmas season,(Im reaching ) giving him one more chance, im positive now that he knows not to go there that he wont, he has been here for over a decade and 20k posts, and this forum wont be the same without him.
