Has President Biden always been a poor public speaker?

He has declining cognitive skills and he does have a speech impediment which he has always had, it can be seen going back all his career. The only reason he was elected when everyone wanted a younger man is the other old guy thought China had a hurricane making machine and wanted to shoot protestors 'just in the legs'. It was an emergency to save the US.

As Mark Esper showed, when there is a deficiency the executive staff make up for it in large part unless its all yes men.

Its a speech impediment, he gets a little phased out when tired but his experience and temper are still good as he listens to advice. Which democrat would you have run instead?

Damn near any of them would have been a better choice. Pete or Bernie would have been better. If we could get Warren pre I'm an Indian period would be great, but she went off the radical left cliff. Yang and Gabbard to lesser degrees, but still better than Joe.
There aren't/weren't any really good choices, democrat or republican, but electing a person who we all knew was going off the deep end cognitively was a mistake. The full blown panic driven decision just to give Trump the boot should have been given a weee bit more thought.

The thing is, Biden can still put together a staff without giving his family every role. We've already learned how many of the Stray Orange Hair's ideas were shot down by his staff, so the same process should work for Biden, drawing from a much larger, non-incestuous talent pool of course.

You remind me that I need to get a cognitive therapist for my sister-in-law as she is snapping at her daughter (8) every second breath and the child is just ignoring her. My mom rarely used the cross voice and so we listened. Not registering/caring when you are wrong leads to poor learning for life..

Warren would have been my choice and the Indian thing that has you aghast is nonsense, her only mistake getting a DNA test that showed her to be correct. If people can't do math on generations, that's their failing.

You believed he was in excessive cognitive decline because he has speech glitches and on (re) learning the stutter thing fail to re-assess. His uncle also had a stutter, it has a genetic component. Now you can say he has bad genes eh?

We've had several U.S. Presidents that served with physical problems and rumored cognitive problems.

Off the top of my head...President Regan served his 2nd term with Dementia. That occurred after two cancer scares and two assassination attempts.

Others...one served from a wheelchair and others have served after surviving a deadly infectious disease that today we know for fact causes cognitive decline.

Yet, only one has talked about bombing other countries that we were not at war with. :D

Biden has been an amazingly competent President when faced with with one great challenge after another. All one has to do is compare Joe Biden's record as President to that of his twice impeached predecessor who told thousands of lies, and had a revolving door cabinet with many administrative appointments lasting only weeks because of discovered malfeasance, to realize what a wonderful leader for our country President Joe Biden has been. Joe's a breath of fresh air after four, embarrassing, episodic years with a gangster as our President.
