Has anyone used this?

like people have said , this strategy has been around for years....and in addition to mutual funds many wirehouse brokerage firms have Dogs of the Dow UIT's(unit investment trusts)...which have some advantages over mutual funds .....just becareful of the fees....when I was working at one firm this was a favorite recommendation from brokers because they were "good for the client" = paid good fees to brokers.

It seems that from the data posted, this works in a bull market but fails in a bear market. if you picked an index fund wouldn't the returns have been better in the bull market and so obviously worse in the bear market that you could pull out?
