Has anyone taken a course at the Energy Management Institute

I was looking at that the other day. Are you looking for employment as an energy trader? An employer will probably pay for all those courses.

I think it is overkill for a retail trader since the most import industry resources will be difficult to access. The trading modules will probably not impart any trading knowledge beyond what you would find on a typical Amazon bestseller or Google search.
 
I trade at a prop firm and looking to expand my product selection, I just need to be better informed of what else is out there because eventually I could get access to other energy products as long as I ask for it. Also meeting other energy traders is something I am interested in as well.
 
I became aware of the site via the CME, which doesn't say much. But, it's something.

An astute operator in energy trading like @ogarbitrage can probably give you the scoop on that. Unfortunately, he hasn't been active lately.
 
You might also look at RBN Energy and their "School of Rock" sessions. I know that's kind of corny, but it follows the theme of naming their daily articles after a pop song. RBN might not be the best for trading-specific education, but the articles are certainly helpful for learning about the industry, esp. NG and NGLs.

DTN runs an "Ag Summit" in Chgo each December but I think it's mostly for producers. If someone is looking for some basics on the ag mkts from a modern text, I've heard good things about this book:
