Sen. Harry Reid said nothing of his earlier claims that Mitt Romney had not paid taxes over a ten-year span in a Friday statement joining Democrats in responding to Romney's release of tax-related documents on Friday.

The Nevada Democrat and Senate majority leader called Romney's accounting "galling" and said the documentation "reveals that Mitt Romney manipulated one of the only two years of tax returns he's seen fit to show the American people – and then only to 'conform' with his public statements."

In addition to his full 2011 returns, Romney released a letter from the accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers saying Romney had owed and paid taxes over the last 20 years. The letter said the average effective rate over that period was 20.2%, and the lowest rate was 13.66%.

Daschle’s resignation came a day after Obama declared he “absolutely” continued to support the nomination.

Nancy Killefer: President Obama's nominee withdrew her candidacy to be the first chief performance officer for the federal government on Tuesday, saying she didn't want her bungling of payroll taxes to become a distraction for the Obama administration. Killefer was the second major nominee to withdraw. Within hours, former Sen. Tom Daschle also withdrew his nomination to be secretary of health and human services.

Kathleen Sebelius: President Obama's nominee to become Health and Human Services secretary, said in a letter obtained by the Associated Press that she made "unintentional errors" on her taxes and has corrected her returns from three different years.

Timothy Geithner: If any ordinary American citizen did not pay nearly $50,000 of back taxes over a seven-year period, he or she may land in prison. However, if destined to be a cabinet member in the Obama administration, you are allowed to pay back some of the back taxes and interest, have some of the taxes excused, receive a pass, and then be confirmed as secretary of treasury.

According to an IRS report, Barack Obama is harboring at least three dozen tax cheats right on his own staff! Together, this bunch has made a joke of Obama’s line about the “rich paying their fair share of taxes.” They owe a collective $833,970 in back taxes – and we thought liberals were patriotic!

Let us say someone pays 1.xM in taxes, and receipts 100 million in donations. The 100 millions is deductible, which means it is 33M that would have gone to tax. So the net is: (1-33) million "paid" which is MINUS 31.ish Million.

So paying can become receiving.
