I would image Stormy would say she was offered money to not say anything about her relationship with Trump and he twas trying to tie up a lose end.

I’m sure Stormy understood that she would face at least a civil suit by Trump and certaintly has guarentees by some entity regarding legal costs along with a compensation package.

Stormy needs to be credible because she has apparently breached a non-disclosure agreement with Trump. Stormy’s possible assertion that she did it for the “greater good” is severely diminished. In addition, less people will be pulling for her as they are less likely see her “good” person, regardless of her profession.

Juries have a very strong tendency to take their duties seriously, well beyond what you normally find on social media, and will likely assign great weight on Stormy’s recent comment.

She shot herself and any related cause in the foot with this comment to the gain of Trump.

In any normal jurisdiction the rule of contracts would be the agreement only need be signed by the party being asked to perform. Especially if the other party has already performed. Trump side performed when they paid.

I suspect that in order to talk cnn or some other group agreed to indemnify her against any damages she might suffer in a lawsuit.

My guess is the NDA is still enforceable because in consideration for Stormy to receive money, she was to not disclose. The side that payed the money had no additional duties to perform, thus it might be considered a unilateral contract not requiring both signatures.

Unless there is actual proof of intimidation, there should will be no effect on the case.

The strongest part of the case appears to be the source of funds. However, I would be suprised if the Trump team would deliberately risk a violation, especially over such a small amount of money. Why would the Trump team pay to avoid political complications while at the same time risk creating another political complication by their method of payment? I’m sure this is not the Trump’s team first rodeo in business or politics.
