Happy Birthday No Global Waming - 18 years old.

You don't have to be a scientist to see that; it's just common sense. As for having a dog in the fight, we all do in one way or another, unfortunately. Profits from fossil fuels aren't going to do one any good when he's dead.
yes, well, as just for selfish me (not thinking or caring about my grand kids, who like Allan Simpson says, "Like Poopy Poopy Snoopdog.") I'm all for quality above quantity. In otherwords, I'm not afraid to die as long as my life was good.

oh by the way, Rachel Maddow thinks what he was saying is, "Kids shouldn't listen to rap." That's who you have on your side.

No point in being afraid to die since none of us has a choice. But I do think it's a shame that we've fucked this up so badly.

no one is saying co2 does nothing.
We know co2 is plant food... the earth is greening and crop production is going up.
So there is a strong chance co2 is helping feed our population explosion.

However, whether man made co2 is warming cooling, or doing nothing on net is unknown.
We need more science.

We know co2 can warm. We know co2 can cool.
yes, well, it would be helpful if you would stop bitching and arguing with the watermelons who won't be happy until we have a carbon tax and government controls all energy, and start educating us as to just what co2 does. Where it comes from, where it goes. What is the affect of it's release?

So far all I've heard from you is, "I don't know shit and you don't either!"

Loyak, this chart is really all one has to see. That coupled with the indisputable fact that CO2 is a greenhouse gas.

Fossil fuels were burnt so CO2 levels went up so temps went up. This will continue and get more pronounced unless some big changes are made in how we get our energy.

jem can be ignored as long as he ignores this simple common sense science.

I disagree. He ought to work his way through jem's posts. There are only a few thousand or so.

when go more granula on the data... instead of the distortion you get with fraundcurrents chart you see that the blue leads the green by about 12 months. (that is for fc) which means co2 matches at a 91% correlation with change in sea surface temps. that is matches but lags up and own by 12 months.

absent science to the contrary... that is really all you need to know that co2 is not driving temps... temps are driving co2.

Again from you, irrelevant crap. You have no science. It is not temperature and CO2. This chart however is.....CO2 certainly leads temps. No respected scientist disputes that. It's common sense which you don't have.

yes, I think you may be on to something here. I'm no scientist and don't really have a dog in the global warming fight, but what you say makes sense to a layman. The co2 is safely locked in coal and crude. It's been there a long time, and now it is being released like there is no tomorrow.

Yep and the sea floor is covered with huge deposits of methane hydrates that can be released by a variety of mechanisms to include variation in sea temperature. We live on a planet dominated by carbon based organic chemistry so it is basically everywhere.

So you're saying we're screwed no matter what?
:)

Yep, as the oceans warm the methane (ice) may be released, adding to the greenhouse effect as methane is a far more potent GHG than CO2.

No I'm saying that the scale of the natural carbon storage/release mechanisms on Earth are huge. The human component of carbon release is insignificant compared to the enormous natural sources of release.
