It was jumpy for a while...tough to hold on. Luckily I was able to keep most of my position for the free fall.

sure it was, very nice spot u found down there towards the close; really bumpy ride for most of the session, too volatile to trade near the open, took hours to settle a bit, and on insight it was bound to tumble like that...too bad that takin' beatin' after beatin' clouded my judgment...oh well, at least u got a good $2 outta it.
 
didn't trade this one today. however older trader on my desk was looking to short this from premarket. He cited the missed earnings and the fact that HANS is worthless if it's not blowing out earnings. Add to that the overall bearishness of the market and he was convinced he was right. I think he was short big size all day...
 
Stupid me goes short and sells after a minor loss, only to see it drop like a rock. So when i though the bottom was in I go long and of course it heads down for the rest of the day. Im sitting on a small loss but not worried. I figure if there is a pause in rates Hans could get a lift (hopefully).

Looking to sell at $31.00 and go short. However if tomorrow there is no pause or there is a pause and everyone sells on the news, HANS will most likely fall. At that point I will take the loss and wait for a bottom on the market because I think 11k could be here tomorrow afternoon. Will sell and go long SDS or DXD.

for the very same reason, I'm a little shy to short after such a flat line drop. I guess I haven't been around long enough to get a comfort level with it.

I like a good parabolic descent with intermittent fractional retraces. :)
 
what you have to remember is there is something called the reg sho list for a reason. HANS has been a target for a long time, and when they get hold of it, they kill it. There was one good bounce, but late in the day it took out all the levels.

My bet is, that when the FOIA comes in , and it will, you will see substantial fails on today's trading. Why not? No penalites? Big dough. Break out the support.

That's why, when you look to support levels in these markets, you have to take them with a grain of salt. They don't work like before. This access to seemingly unlimited shorting allows the shorts to break these levels. For now, play with them. To counter trend them is suicide.
 
agreed. by all means, I meant I am also shy to do anything. I'd short before I'd buy on such a breakout -- support levels take days to establish after something like this. buying would be much scarier.

I was playing and had no patience so i went long. Tomorrow morning HANS will be one of the most active stocks pre-market probably crossing the cnbc ticker first thing at 8am.
