Thanks Grul - I do have TWS, but not the data subscription.
Does the IB HK Futures quotes come bundled with other futures or just separate ?
HSI / HHI trade at:
9:15 PM - 12:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (next day morning session in Hong Kong)
1:00 AM - 4:00 AM Eastern Standard TIme (next day afternoon session in Hong Kong)
These hours are shifted back 1 hour in the Fall in the US with daylight savings time. The actual exchange hours of the Hong Kong Futures Exchange never change.
The data subscription to the HSI/HHI/MCH/MHI is DIRT CHEAP at IB. Subscribe to it! One price.
Look up HSI, HHI, MCH and MHI (last 2 are mini-contracts of the first 2, 1/5th their tick value).
HHI moves in lock-step to the HSI. It has the same tick value. It's like trading 1/2 HSI contract as it moves about 1/2 the distance of the HSI, in general.
If you can trade the 1 min HSI or HHI chart consistently well over several months, you have rock-solid skills in day trading super high volatility. You shouldn't have to take more then 12-30 ticks risk (varies on the setup) for a stop loss for 2x+ rewards. Don't hyper-scalp it. If you can't see yourself getting at least a 30 tick win on a setup, pass.
Have fun!
