I confront my jewish friends and they are totally ambivalent about the survival of Israel. American jews are green-lighting the destruction of Israel.

Some American Jews are ignorant/ambivalent about their need for Israel's continued existence, but there are plenty who are genuinely concerned. Perhaps you sampled the opinions of too-small a segment of the population to get an accurate picture?
