Palestinians were forced from their homes at gunpoint in 1948 and had nowhere to go other than refugee camps. Israel was born in ethnic cleansing, and continues with that to this day. No amount of doubletalk or propaganda can cover this up, especially among Arabs who witnessed it all at close hand.
In 1942 Roosevelt moved Japanese Iiving in the US to concentration camps at gunpoint. They were forced from their homes. The context is that Japan had opened up a war by surprise attack and Japanese were considered potential partisans.
Likewise, Arabs opened up a war in 1948 by surprise attack where Israel had much more at stake than the US did in 1942. Since the war was an Arab religio-racist war, any Arab in Israeli territory could be considered a partisan.
Even so, I think you are ignoring just how many Arabs were allowed to stay in their homes, and why. You are emphasizing how many weren't, implying all of them, and don't give any context.
